When you find his address, send him a delivery confirmed and notorized letter, stating that he owes you the money and you want it. State in the letter that he has 30 days to pay you or dispute the debt. When the 30 days go by, and he hasn't responded to your letter, you send him a DEFAULT letter, giving him 15 more days to respond or pay.

If you go through this simple process, you automatically win a court judgement on him, without having to produce any evidence what so ever. This way you won't have to argue with him in court over anything (although he probably wouldn't show up, and you'd win default judgement anyways).

Once you get the default judgement, you can place liens on his house and cars and anything else he owns. You can also take the judgement to his local sheriff and they will find out where he works and they'll garnish his wages.

I know you probably don't have the time to do all of that, but I'm sure most of the paperwork can be faxed where it needs to be. You don't even have to hire a lawyer for any of this, as it's really simple and with the default letter, you automatically win. You probably don't even need that as I doubt he'd even show up to court.

Anyways GL, if you need help with the letters once you find his address just send a PM, I've unfortunately had to do this a few times, so I understand it a little.

(Edit) Finished reading the thread- Will keep my opinion to myself. This guy deserves the worst that could happen to him, taking advantage of someone who has shown time and time again to be a great guy on here.

He is in collections - worst case I'll talk to a lawyer if it drags on too much longer.

I hope he has a business in his name, collections doesn't always have a way to recover money.. I editted my above post just incase, because i don't want to encourage people to go pay him a visit unless it would be useful, which it seems it wouldn't help a thing. If it comes down to it, and your stuck in a corner legally without the option of recovering anything, i'm sure you can say the word on here and people wouldn't have a problem handling it themself- whether it be verbal and intimidation or physical and complete criminal act .. I can only hope it doesn't get to that, and your able to put him in his place in the court of law.


One last edit: Whats amazing is Jake still doesn't really want anything bad to happen to the person, he would rather have collections receive the money than see any jail-time for this guy. If there was anyway we could help out, i'm sure anyone here would.. I just really hope collections has a better time getting money for you than they do the rest of the countrys debt :-P.

Wait, so you followed the proper channels and the debt is now in collections? If it is, I'm not sure if there is much more you can do. He seems like a piece of ****, so I doubt if he cares about this being a negative on his credit rating. I do hope you get it sorted out sooner than later.

Collections has been turned over to an attorney by the collections agency. Still no word from Jason regarding the situation.
