they cant make up refs on there cause you can see the other persons feed back and how many positive, negitive ect... as soon as i started selling they told me to make my account.

No, not at all. Take King for an example...he was at 100% and then pulled this. I'm not saying prevent anyone from selling but it should be strongly suggested. but a person who does sign up would definitly have more cred because they signed up. But then again, how does that site really protect the buyer? Is proof of purchase necessary when feedback is left?

Okay - I can see your point there about someone potentially listing "references" in the signatures that are not valid but how about someone like me that the references include links to the threads that plainly show they are legitimate?

I totally agree with doing that. Isnt that what 'Heat' does? Creates a database of transactions of the registered member? So in a sense, those links in your sig are the database...Those links are a plain and simple statement to a buyer saying "I'm not going to **** you over, take the word of my previous buyer's and sellers" I'd do it too if I could just find the threads, lol.

No the site will not protect the buyer just shows they are not fake refs.

You could get all you refs to make a account on there and then you both leave feedback. but as long as you have refs and can prove it there is no need.

Actualy doing it that way might look fishy cause the people leaving you feed back might only have one ref and it will make it look like you opened multi accounts just to get refs.

That's not entirely true either. It's a long, complicated, pain in the posterior process but you can go through the post office and file for mail fraud since it was a mailed payment for a fraudulant sale. I've seen it done more than a couple of times via eBay screwups.
