I have not sold anything on here but have sold on canadian forums for computer gear and what not.
And have good refs on that site. I treat people the way I want to be treated.

I think we need a special moderator just for the classified sections to help people with their for sale threads and maybe to help the customer. Someone to watch over the threads and make sure things like pics from several angles are up. I know it won't stop much in terms of scamming, but I think it could help a little.

Side note: are there any legit "escrow" services available to prevent things like this? Some place to hold the cash until verification of the product upon being received? I know there are a few scams out there that use the same idea, but I think a legit service would bank and help prevent htings like this.

www.escrow.com is the ONLY one IIRC...Someguy on here tryed to scam me using a rip-off of it and when I called him out he got all upity and pissed off but that was a year ago...Quote:

I say people should not send money orders anymore. If someone only wants you to send money order, cancel the deal regardless of how cheap the item may be. I know I wouldnt.

I wanted to send paypal just for this reason but he could not do that cause he had no credit cards or some bs he said. and others had smooth transactions with him so I never thought this would happen.
I am sure there are some legal ramifications, but would require written agreements. I am not an attorney so I don't know if forum posts, pm's, or emails will hold up. Also, the legal process might be a waste if the guy doesn;t have any cash to pay up any way, and then you are out lawyer fees as well. Honestly, as bad as it *****, you will probably end up eating the $$$.Quote:
