dude if you had it set right on the DMM and it was reading 3.9 on 1 coil and 2.5 or whatever you said on the other coil, that sub is needing a recone. so if that's the case he owe's you the 150 for the recone and 43 for him ripping you on shipping.

That doesn't look good man. If you are doubting the DMM then try to find an audio shop to do it for you... but I really think the sub might be messed up. Hopefully Kng gets on here and clears things up... It's always hard to judge a story based on only one side of it.

ya i am worried about this sub.

I am taking it to my local shop tomorrow morning and have them test the coils.
I hope it was just the DMM. but my luck it needs a recone.

umm re doesnt do recones to canada iirc. So $150 for a recone does him no good.

given it seems a shop owner lives 2 hours from him i thought he could go there. i could be wrong though it seemed as though that's what MrSector9 meant.

I can get a recone just have it shipped to someone in the states and have them ship it to me. and MrSector9 said he would help me do it.

I REALLY hope it does not need a recone.

Could i not get the recone kit from a dealer in canada?

I made a post on RE site to see if they will ship recones to canada and if they dont can I get one from a local dealer.

And the closest dealer to me is like 1000miles away

But again i am praying it was the DMM.

No The box was not damaged.

will know in about 2 hours going to my local shop and have them check the coils with a Good DMM and if it checks out I am going to get them to throw some power to it and see.

the MT ia gapped reallt tightly and even though you think your pushing down evenly being off by a hair will cause a scrape

Well just got back for the local shop and boy am i pissed.

Measured the coils with his DMM and one jumps between 1.9-2.4 the other reads 5-6ohms!!

He said that one coils is shot and It needs to be reconed.
Come on king what is going on here.


You told me that the sub was like new and not a thing wrong with it and it has only been used for about 3 weeks and it arrives to me marked up abused, alot longer then 3 weeks use forsure and basicly blown!

And also scamed me on shipping.
