    Homemade Utility Trailer Security System

A buddy of mine has an open trailer that was given to him for free, and pressure washing equipment that he wants to put on it, but the trailer won't fit in his shed. He lives in the city where people can see his trailer. We were trying to find alarms for trailers, but the prices are ridiculous, so we threw around the idea of making a security system of our own, that works like a car alarm would (as in you bump the car and it goes off). We both have some knowledge with AC and DC low voltage. I figured you guys might have some good ideas. As far as securing equipment onto the trailer, we will be using heavy duty cables with locks on the ends and putting a tool box on there. Yes, we do have a limited budget, it just might work out. Anyone got any ideas?

A bad ass dog, a chain, and a loaded 12 gauge. Security lights help too.

Here's an idea. Buy a car alarm.

hook up a car battery to it at night so if anyone touches it it'll shock the hell out of them.

Buy a set of $30 motion lights, install them next to where the trailer stays parked. Tap a siren onto it, done.
