the DD's will be dual 4 ohm so i would run them at 1 ohm and the JL's are single 3 ohm so what would that break down to ohm wise to amp.

Well I know from experence the 1508 will take 1k ea daily. I ran 4 off of 4 bmf1000d's and had no problems. The 1.8cu with36sq port is what I was using per pair of subs. Was the loudest of all the port ratios i tried and sounded real nice too.

the dd will be louder and will have more of a hit sound. They can take more power daily than the JL. THe JL wont get as loud but will have a smoother more SQ sound. I dont know what the rest of your system is, but if you wont loud go DD. Dont get me wrong, the JL's get loud, but more SQ sound.
