Live concerts are studio mixed, too.

Either way, they are recording a live event (for example, a plucking of a string). Even though the mastering process involves altering the recording, it is the mastered product that I want to hear, and not anything else.

You are right in noting that I don't care about profits; I care about music.

I guess I was referring to "live" and how it affects the stage. Vocalist centered, perhaps bass guitar off to one side, etc... vs a studio recording.

Does "caring" so much still allow you to just enjoy it? Sing along to the lyrics, enjoy a nice guitar riff, etc... And I'm seriously asking as I consider you a SQ extremist, but I also respect your knowledge/opinion, so it's a chance for me to see how the "other half" does things

How did reproducing the "mastered product" become the end goal for you vs tuning to make your ears happy? Just wondering what lead you down that path...
