If i recall Didn't I ask you how the hooptie was working out with that weird design? I tried it..and it worked fine with the truck when it had the 6 15's in it lol .

you know what, if i DID ask, im sure id have no problem saying it......thats what friends do, they share ideas and opinions - whatever it takes to get the job done.

simple fact is, when i made this box 4 years ago, i didnt even know Scott and certainly didnt know he was the big man behind RE Audio......dont flame LOL, i thought he was just Davids helper. Thats how humble scott is, i talked to him 20 times before i knew HE was the boss.

I only skimmed this thread a little because frankly, I don't care. However, some points should be made.

• Ear loud and meter loud aren't the same. A 154 @ 40 hz can make you throw up instantly, and a 160 @ 60 hz may not do anything to you and won't sound as loud either. You have to decide if your goal is ear loud or meter loud.
• You can't critisize somebody for how something performs if you can't do it yourself. You have no room to talk about how somebody should be doing more than XXX.X if you can't do it yourself. Not somebody else, YOURSELF. If you have something that is louder with less and you didn't build it yourself, you can still STFU because YOU DIDN'T BUILD IT.
• If you want a manufacturer to build a sub and put your name on it, offer to pay to have a screen made as well as the minimum run number done. Then you can have a $300 dustcap so you'll feel special.

Exactly! Truck was loud as hell for what it was..I didn't come up with the design, I asked you how it worked and went from there...worked great for a few months that I used it...

But it's back apart now..time for the real deal lol .

I have to disagree with this, whille it may not make ur clothes move as much, 160 @ 60hz will DEFFFF hurt worse than a 154 at 40hz

absolutely! a 160 is loud regardless - no doubt. Not only that but with 3db being double, that should tell you what it takes to go from 157 to a 160...

anyway im not to sure on pricing yet.....im flying in to Vegas in the next few weeks so me and scott can polish up all the fine details. By release time, we will have everything available and most questions answered. I know its gonna be more then the current BTL - but prices on materials have gone up so much since then it sorta has to be......plus there is more sub there then a BTL too. Not necessarily better, all subs from 100w and up have their place, just MORE material thats all

Ok I know a lot of this paragraph is theoretical But I think the point trying to be made here is this......... over 90 percent of people that can afford it of course could do the EXACT same thing meade is doing. If somebody bought 4 fi 18 btl's. Bought 4 rockford 4kw. the charging system. Called scott and said hey what do you recommend for box. Could hit the EXACT same number. I think the problem here is it took no knowledge to hit the number. Just money. My friend shackman isn't too bright at car audio but can build things great. If he had the money and called scott he could do the EXACT same thing. There is nothing special about the setup besides the astronomical amounts of money spent on this set up. Is it probably freaking loud ....yes!!! But he gets 50 times more recognition than Tommy/rio and pipo combined while not being near as loud. Now as far as hair tricks go to settle this freq is a more important factor than volume and honestly hair trick notes seem to be kinda low centered and I have sat in rio's and it did take my breathe away, but sorry man tommy's punch is way more painful . A little higher freq in comparison to lower will hurt more per amount of volume thus FEELING louder. Hair tricks have nothing to do with it. As a person meade may be a great guy. And he seems that he is a great sport with showing people his system in the days of people being so secretive about their crap. But I think his unjust fame has caused hatred from many people. There again not taking credit away man but you didn't do anything that somebody with credit cards couldn't have done and scotts help... Same way you did it. nothing personal man I just think everybody gets tired of hearing it when you have others out there way louder without getting credit from videos... I guess that is their choice not to make the videos though..... Don't worry we should be building a nice little toy next spring that we will get plenty of videos of

Im say something to this.

I had a buddy. 4 18 BTLs in a Tahoe. With 4 Memphis 4kws. 5 Batteries and 4 Alts.

VERY similar setup to Meade and only would do a 153ish.

Im sure Meade is louder by his design of box.

Im not taking anything from my buddy but his box was his weak point, cause was similar, he didn't to copy Steves box.

i want to toss something out there........anyone ever thought about joining me rather then always trying to beat me? Seriously i have a feeling, most that are spouting off to me dont know anything about what i do. Why would someone think i need someone else to design my box's? Or even that i just have money and thats why my system is loud. Anyway, im always open to those that want to be coo with me even if you had shit to say in the past.

Meh, I respect your build skillz and ability to get loud, but coming in here and acting like a jack off and not caring about who buys off you hits a nerve with me. I wouldn't buy from you just because of that.

Not that you care of course. You or someone just lost however much it will cost for a sub if interested in it.

Well there may be a few points I make to this whole convo but the first I would like to make.... Meades favorite defense.... Im not in a wall ha ha..... Ok lets take that into consideration... walls from suv's typically gain 1 to 3 db... So quit using that as a crutch. it isn't like a 10 db gain... And actually I have had a 10kw system and I realize the charging system is a nightmare. And I guess I worded it a bit incorrectly.... Anybody that has a general knowledge of the car and car audio could do what you did. And I ain't saying who said it so don't ask but somebody talked to scott and scott DID say he had something to do with your box design and I do believe you have a daily port and a SPL port but not going to get into that out of respect of the person that said it.... And lets even go a step further. Lets say that not anybody could do it. only 1 in 10 could do it with the money.... ok getting more impressive. but NO WHERE near the one in a 1,000,000 you get recognition for.

It's an Ascendant sub...it will only be available through dealers.
