(i.e. re hc's using onyx motors with a black plastic covers over the label) thing is- ben seems to be an idiot, but they have had no real "issues" with the products in the past couple of years.... and yes, I do know the history- i was around for the whole original 9.1 preorder fiasco, or the original a series (flatcone) problems. Bottom line is this- their stuff is cheap, but it works for what you pay for it.... And ben isnt the only company owner or worker that has been an ass. (tc sounds comes to mind, as well as nate from e.a.)

Who said anything about things failing? I was refering to the money Ben has screwed people out of and the fact that he is blatantly accuseing TANG BAND of STEALING HIS DESIGN. This comming from a person with a bad reputation for lying and one with no known build house, only a warehouse with some reconens going on every now and agian. He cant even provide pictures of an assembely line when asked...but he can delet threads and ban IPs. Where as TangBand is its own buildhouse, world class build house, who designs and constructs its own drivers in its own buildhouse. (redundant statment at its finest)

Well, I just came across some interesting info. I think that it wont be long before TB takes legal action agianst Ben if the information provided to me is correct. I wont say who, why, or where. But search some of the other forums and it shouldnt be too hard to find.

From what Dan said (assumeing all fact), TB holds a patenet pending on the cone, motor tooling, basket, and spider spacer. Ben had TB make him a proto-type. TB agreed to let Ben have exclusive rights to the design if he could me certian quota or pay for the custom tooling. Ben refused and took the Proto to another build house and started production there. Ben then claimed the design as his own and said TB stole it. When in fact Ben stole the design from TB and the design was TB's. Once the patent is issued (assumeing it does issue) TB has the option to sue Ben for Slander and Patent infringement. If TB carries through with the law suit and it is not settled outside of court TB could possibly put eD out of business. I doubt that will happen but it would be good for the entire audio industry, IMO, to knock Ben out of the runnings and end his clan of idiots on ISUX.

just my two cents, Before coming to the light so to speak, My brother and I had both purchased several woofers from ED and have had experiences with Ben. Let me put it like this. we've have a 2 12a's, 3 15ae's, 2 160v.2's and a 16 kv2. blow on us. Mind you we always kept it under their overrated power handling ratings, and kept the gains down. When they blew, Ben wanted to pay money for recones, shipping, and made allegations that we were responsible either putting to much power, or something in our install. When the last 16 ov.2 went bad, it was when they were in pre-production, he said well either pay for a new woofer, or he piece together the edi 6000 comps from extra parts laying around. So he ended up just taking the speakers and calling it a day. No Ebashing at all but the speakers sounded like ass. Don't get me wrong the kv.2 and ov.2 sounded pretty good when they worked, but ED is not reliable at all in my opinion. They may not have as much problems as they did back when they had the flat cones, but im my experience, their new stuff is almost just as bad.

P.S. I'm still on icix, even though I havent been on there in forever, but I can see if I can get you an exact quote from Ben on the TB
