No, all you need is a sharp razorblade. i use 3m adhesive and the carpet. at least to do an ok job.
On Aero Drive West, by Qualcomm Stadium theres a carpet shop, that charges cheap for automotive carpet.
And for carpeting, i can do it, but i'm too busy. I'll look for the carpeting tutorial and link you to it.

bjfish's teechnique is amazing/.
http://www.partsexpess.com for the carpet and spray glue. and if you have a sharp blade with a straightedge you can do it yourself. just wrap it tightly around the box, and apply it one panel at a time (while keeping it one piece of course).
