HU install causing alternator to not charge battery.

i put a deck in my friends 94 saturn SL2 and for some reason it got hot. he didnt drive it much so it went down on priority list and one say his alt stoped chargeing so he had someone put in new alt(i wasnt gonna go it those alts are a bisch to get to) anyways after the new alt it still wont charge. he took it to a shop and the shop said the deck broke a "fusable link" between alt and battery so im guessing a fuse. but how would a HU do that? do i have my wires Fed or do you think the stock wiring wouldnt hold up to the new deck and that blew? just asking if this has happened to anyonw and if they fixed it.

I doubt it was the deck that caused that......Any kind of electrical problems a vehicle has the blame is placed on the aftermarket equipment by mechanics and auto dealers.

check to make sure your wire are hooked up correctly and relocate the ground.
