    Cda-7995 Help?!

Okay... I just installed my girlfriends 7995... looks pretty slick. I can get radio, but CD's don't put out any sound. It recognizes the CD... I can fast forward and stuff... but no sound, at all. It is not muted or anything stupid like that. The amp is hooked up properly, as I can get static and radio (when set to tuner)
Set it to CD and I get NOTHING.

    I already reset the deck.

Any deck settings that would cause this?

I tried a store bought CD as well as an MP3 disc. No dice.

Hmm...wel since I don't personally own one...all I can do is look at the manual .pdf

This is prolly not the problem but I know the 7995 can use the CD Changer function. It's not set to that is it? Cuz it could be trying to playback something from a changer that's not there....otherwise I'm stumped for now.

Yeah, it is not on the changer function. Like I said, it is physically reading the CD... it knows there are 14 songs, whatever else... I just don't get sound. haha!

Good times... I have a 7998, so I am not ignorant in terms of alpine... but this has me stumped. i don't want to accept that the deck might be broken.

My friends 9845 didn't read the disc cuz his dad had put a screw in too tight causing it to buckle the side of the HU. My 9853 has always worked so I have no idea....sorry man I tried and failed lol

Hopefully a 7995 user will come to my aid. I read through the manual... nothing jumped out at me. This happened on my 7897, but when I sold it, the guy wanted to use the internal amp... I had the internal amp turned off... so obviously, no sound. Switched it on, voila.

    Not this time...

for a matter of fact, didnt you connected the blue wire (power antena) into the remote input of the amplifier, instead of blue and white striped wire (remote amplifier turn on)?

I can't believe it took so long to get the right answer, since we see this problem posted about once a week.

Whatever is connected to the blue wire on your head unit, unhook it and connect it to the blue/white instead.

No, the solid blue wire isn't hooked up to anything... blue/white is hooked up to my remote wire. Like I said, I am getting radio, just not CD.

Have a little more faith in me, guys!

    Re: Cda-7995 Help?!

It is definately not a wiring issue. Absolutely everything works... it even recognizes the CDs, gives me album titles etc etc. Just ZERO sound. The amp and speakers ARE hooked up properly, because the radio works. There is no wire that is dedicated to the CD player. It is either a setting within the deck's controlls that needs to be changed (what I hope is the case) or, what is looking to be the more likely scenario... the unit is malfunctioning somehow. I have installed way too many decks to not know the wiring was perfect. It isn't that difficult. Plus, like I said, I removed the old deck, and hooked this one up. It was a 30 minute swap.
