Uhh, is this a good amp? Its awefully cheap...

I read a few good reviews about eclipse and its on crutchfields signature list thing...
Eclipse EA4200 EA Series 4-channel car amplifier — 60 watts RMS x 4 at Crutchfield Signature
im looking for something to power my 4x pioneer d6802R speakers which are supposed to run 60 rms 260 max

Is this amp something i should go for or would i be better off with another? Its way cheaper then similar powered amps from like kicker and RF

    more power is not everything...jeez

Id much rather have a good sounding 60watts vs 100 bad sounding watts.

120 bridged is plenty for most applications

    Bad sounding watts?

No speaker, in the history of speakers, has ever been blown by too little power. Ever. I don't care what your friend told you, he's a dirty liar.

I honestly didnt know what you meant. A watt is a watt. Eclipse is hardly RoadGear, and I dont see any reason to assume the ratings are inaccurate or to be assumed to be 'max' ratings. *shrug*

yea think what he means is like when you buy a cheapo amp that has a poop power supply and or components that cause it not to sound so well and is usually accompanied by noise, whine etc although still producing x amout of watts. therefore in the audio world a watt from one brand may not be the same as a watt from another as far as sq and bw goes or there would be no such thing as high end audio. maybe we should all sell our gear and buy roadgear etc since a watt is a watt.

A watt is a watt. An amplifier is merely a voltage gain block. That is not mutually exclusive to the idea there are better quality, and lesser quality, amplifiers out there. Again the Op posted about an Eclipse amplifier, not roadgear or pyramid.

Ok well should i look for something that has 60 RMS but a higher peak or should i get like a 100 RMS amp? The speakers are rated at 60 RMS 260 Max
If someone could make some kind of recommendation that would be nice but the $130 price tag on this eclipse is looking nice especially if its a good amp
