at the mirror pointing at the opposite side of the car is supposed to be the best. so drivers side points at the passenger. passenger side points at you.

How so? I don't see how making the sound go from one side of the car to the other would be the most efficient or sound best...

This is probably what I will end up having to do though, since my sail panels aren't an option and I'm not glassing my pillars.

Re: Tweeter placement in door panel

    Bump...

After looking things over, this is where I want to mount the tweeter. Toward the passenger.

However, the steering column is in the way. I don't want this to affect the passenger's listening experience...

I don't really see any other options as far as placement goes, will this be okay?

Re: Tweeter placement in door panel

Damn. I don't think you have much choice, bro.

Unless you're striving for a serious SQ install, I don't think the placement of your tweets will make or break your system. The area you indicated with the red dot, while not ideal, will work...

Re: Tweeter placement in door panel

I think it should be okay, but I am going to try the double sided tape trick first to be sure. I just didn't want to get my new comps in and be disappointed because of this.

    Thanks bro.

Re: Tweeter placement in door panel

    No problem.

Is there any way you can surface mount them on the dash and then angle them? If you can, break out a laser pointer and get to work. It might not look as cool as flush mounting them, but it should sound okay...
