remote start

prices to get remote starts installed these days is ridiculous... i was wondering if anyone has or knows where i can get a very very very detailed (preferably with pics) diagram on how to install one. i have a 2003 gmc sierra if that helps anything.

Its gonna be near impossible to find a detailed write up on your exact vehicle -

If you have experience with relays, just try it yourself as that car isn't too difficult. When you have questions, feel free to post, there's plenty of experience on this board to help you when you get stuck. I'd run your plan of attack first and post it on here so we can correct any problems we may foresee.

Or, (and I'd suggest this if you have no experience at all) you could search for a reputable backyard guy and have him do it for less money than a store..

If you own a multimeter, wire strippers, and soldering iron, you can definitely tackle it yourself. Take a look at the install manual and compare it to your vehicles wiring diagram and then as mendon said, post any questions that confuse you.

i started labeling some wires to get things going, im having problems figuring out the exact location of the tach wire... also is the driver door module the fuse panel on the outside drivers side of the dash??? thanks for any help...

The tach can usually be tagged at the injectors.

And the driver door module is physically in the door. You have to remove the doorpanel and rip into the plastic to access the module.

One of the easiest vehicles to do IMO. What are you going to use to bypass the passlock system? I highly recommend the DLPKGM for that truck.

True but its really not a bad one.

Looking at the notes on the car, looks like you'll need either a doorlock module for the sierra or you're going to have to wire up some relays for'em instead.

module is the way to go on any 03-present gm truck or SUV. Without one the front doors are type C (5 wire) and the rears would be type B( neg trigger) in each individual door..
