Walmart now carries about 3 different sized of boxes, they are in the mailing section folded up on the bottom shelf.

Lowes has boxes also, as well as bubble wrap, when shipping stuff use the big bubble'd bubble wrap

Re: How To Properly Package Heavy Items!

Someone needs to tell Jeg's and Powermaster. They broke a post off my alternator, which originally took about a month to get on backorder. Powermaster uses a box the size of the alternator with just some crumpled paper in opposite corners and Jeg's just used a single air cushion on the right side of the box! They get to eat the cost, I have to eat shipping and I still need an HO alternator... No wonder these are so expensive.

I would suggest maybe taking a thin sheet of handy board or particle board, very cheap, and cut it the same dimension as the inside of the box like i did mine here:

even made handles out of an old extension chord to pull this heavy bish out! lol package weighed in at 80lbs btw

added more packing stuff before closing it up but forgot to take a pic...

and double boxed (home depot boxes~0.96cents a piece I think)

hopefully it gets to its destination safe!
