So you just cut a notch in the pvc and slide in onto the port edge and screwed it down? Or is it just sitting on top of the port edge?

So the pvc is just sitting flush ontop of the inside of the port?

It is 1/2 piece of 3" PVC sitting on the top edge of the port - correct.

The wood of your inside port edge isn't sanded/rounded over is it? If not, I wonder what change rounding the wood itself rather than adding a pvc round?

I sanded it down a little but we didn't round over the top since I wanted the PVC to mate up to it.

Yesterday I put in another 45 degree piece:





Nothing really changed - did 155.2 dB.

Then I drilled holes to get the speaker wires out of the port... no change. BUT they were not sealed up - just holes.

TODAY I got threaded brass rod, washers, and nuts to make a proper connection :









I should add that before I had a smaller wire jumping from one coil to the other to parallel the coils. Now I have two sets of wires going to the common point (this is probably part of the gain I saw).



So I am up 0.3 dB from my best score and 0.4 from the score I was doing yesterday consistently.

I would say part is due to moving the wires out of the port (this has always gained me in the past) and part was due to the superior connection of running two sets of large wires off the coil.

I didn't know adding that wire would have such effcts.I thought the shorter the wire connection the better?Maybe that is just for series connections?

he has bigger wires carrying the load most people set one wire to do..

So pretty much 2 runs of 12 gauge off the coils is better then i run of 10? That made a big difference if so.

Quite a few things to go

Just for good measure I tested it again at home tonight... 155.6 is hanging in there as long as my batteries are charged up really good.
