Alpine IVA-c800

The unit retails for about $1800 or something supposedly, but it can be had on ebay for $900. It has 2 sets of AV inputs, a nav input, and one AV output. It features the expected 45w x 4 Amplifier, but the odds are, if youre dropping a grand on a head unit, youll be using the three sets of 4v preouts more often. The EQ lets you control the bass, treble, and subwoofer levels seperately, and fade and balance as well. The EQ is easy to use, just press the volume knob until it reaches the level (bass, fade, whatever) that you want to adjust. The screen is high quality with a wide viewing angle, and the interface is prettier than that of the alpine CVA series. It is simple to choose one source for video and another for audio. The cd player never skips.

PROS:
Good screen, easy interface.
External Brain
Multiple Inputs
Control Alpine Nav through HU
12 choices for screen background

CONS:
External Brain
Crappy, crappy spectrum analyzers
No mp3 support, youll have to buy and mp3 changer.

If youve got the money and want an indash screen, you wont regret an iva-c800. The external brain might be good or bad depending on your car, i have a suburban so i can always find a place to hide it and its easier to hook shit up, ill never have to take apart my dash again.
