    Re: ::TESTED:: Audiopipe AP30001D

    Interesting info about surface-mounting... I didn't realize that they have significantly lower power rating.

    For all the surface-mount parts I've done, it's been a thin soldering iron tip, and a steady hand with the tweezers. Quite a pain, but it gets the job done. I've heard about the irons that "blow heat" but never used one. Sounds alot easier to use.

    I'm guessing this is one of the reasons you always advise people not to mount amps to sub boxes? Vibration failure is alot more likely.

    @ SPL, the terminals are angled down... for no good reason... It's not the worst thing ever, but alot of manufacturers are choosing this "upgrade". Is it for clean wiring?

    It's because too I think that if you mount the board in a case that has those SNAZZY end caps like Memphis uses (yuck) made of plastic instead of METAL because the plastic shiz is cheaper it makes for cleaner wiring yes...

    I will say that after seeing the pics posted of the new line, that I am impressed with the differences, 105 celcius caps, thats always a good thing. the 15001 i saw ( several of them ) were all 85 celcius IIRC. so at least that and the new thicker wire is a good thing. hell at 150$ i may try 1 as a test amp on the bench lolz.

    should be pretty similar, but I'd enjoy the peep show.

    need to get some thermal grease, so I can check the FET model number. may be a couple days.
