    4 ohms or 1 ohm

Can anyone tell me advantages or disadvantages of either one? I have a flatcone e12a that i want to have somewhere between 400 or up watts going to it, but i don't want to spend too much(less than $100).

Two options i can see are the profile cl800(clarus series 600X1 @4ohm), or the directed 750d (600x1 @1ohm). both are between 80 and 100 bucks. I have heard that both companies are good for what they advertise.

Any more options are welcome, just don't suggest a JL1000.1 or RE35.1 or mojo or anything rediculous like that. under $100.
    thanks,
    brian

out of those two go with the directed, its better than the profile. other than that the ohm load is really up to you for whats better, at a lower ohm load you hav eless resistance than at a higher ohm load. it depends on the amp as well because some will run better at 1 ohm than 4 or visa versa

That sub will take a ton of power. I have ~900 watts at 1 ohm on mine and it really moves for a 10".....something like 22mm x-max. Buy the amp that gives you the most power and has the best flexibility for your budget.

Good choice on the sub, BTW

When your budget allows, she likes to be tickled with 900-1000W

Re: 4 ohms or 1 ohm

Thanks, guys. I just bought it, and i am kinda taking a risk. It has one of the four pieces around the bracket that is broken, but the cone still moves apparently without scratching. The guy gave it to me, i just had to pay shipping. Nice guy. Anyway, i have heard some people fixing it with epoxy, so i might give it a try. If not, it has the TC9 motor, so i am sure i can sell it for a decent price or get it reconed. Any more options better than these amps?
